Dominic J. Peters, M.D., FAAOS, joined Salem Orthopaedic Surgery in 2015.
Education & Training
A local high school graduate of Poland Seminary High School, Dr. Peters received his Bachelor's Degree from Youngstown State University Summa Cum Laude and his Medical Degree from the Northeastern Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society for excellence in scholarship and medical professionalism. He then completed his residency at Michigan State University at the Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies, where he was the Chief Resident and also participated in several research projects. From there, Dr. Peters obtained his Fellowship training at the renowned Hoag Orthopaedic Institute in Orange County, California. He has also been inducted as a Fellow member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS).
Areas of Practice / Interest
Dr. Peters is fellowship trained in adult hip and knee arthritis replacement surgery, focusing on the new muscle sparing "Anterior Total Hip Arthroplasty;" total knee replacement surgery; outpatient partial knee replacements; complex hip and knee revision surgery; general orthopaedic surgery; and the care of fractures/traumatic musculoskeletal injuries. As a Fellow member of the AAHKS, he must perform a minimum of 50 major reconstructive procedures of the hip or knee annually.

Dr. Peters has been featured in the Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and has presented to the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, American Association for Hand Surgery, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the Michigan Orthopaedic Society. His professional memberships include the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and the AAOS.
